Hike through the historic Mueller Tunnel in the Los Angeles National Forest, built in 1942 by the United States Forest Service. This tunnel is the gateway to Mount Lowe and the historic Mount Lowe Railroad or "the railroad in the sky". You will be instantly greeted with gorgeous views of the city and mountains, as you hike this windy trail to Inspiration Point you will for sure be inspired by the views before even getting to the gorgeous lookout that is Inspiration Point. This makes for a great sunset hike but is honestly gorgeous any time of the day. There is a slight incline on the way back but it is very minimal, loose gravel and large rocks on the trail; hiking boots are recommended but not required.
